I made stickers for all the boys to put on their bikes
Friday night to remember Ben Turner who died last
saturday night during our riverfront race
He was right in front of Cole when he crashed during
He was right in front of Cole when he crashed during the 2nd 450 novice race of the night--He face
planted into the ground very hard but got up and moved
out of the way--after the race-- I saw
him get into the rhino to be driven back to his
pit area--(I have binocluars)
the story goes that shortly after getting into
his pit area he was having trouble breathing so he
walked back down to the EMT's and then he collasped
and stopped breathing--none of us realized what
was going on--the EMT's were doing CPR on
someone but we thought it was an adult maybe
because it was so hot that day and we thought maybe
someone had heat stoke--then the
ambulance left--we found out the next day on
myspace that he had died on the way to the hospital.
They think he broke a rib and it punctured his
lungs/some say his lungs collpapsed from the
impact/the paper said he had a broken neck (which may
be true from the way he landed but that did
not kill him) we may never know--but this has
been very sad for all of us--much is being done for his family--
donations and several memorial rides-
-but that doesn't bring him back-
-His funeral was held sunday
he came from a long line of mx riders/racers
